| ROSE
SUPREME was at one time the most popular variety. Merritt Supreme, a
very different plant is now first in sales. Rose Supreme is very
vigorous and produces extra large light pink or light blue heads.
Intermediate colors are good, also. It is tall and requires B-Nine
applications during summer growth and, usually, 2-3 during forcing to
reduce height. It is a late variety, requiring about 1 week longer to
force than most and is 2 weeks later than Merritt Supreme. It stands up
well in the heat and is used extensively in Texas, Florida and other
southern areas.
Rose Supreme may be difficult to bring to flower for the earliest Easters. It is always suitable for Mother's Day. |
